Buy a Wii Fit and see sexy butt goes round and round!

May 31st, 2008

I guess Wii is famous enough, but Wii Fit? Wii Fit is one of the accessories of Wii for body movement gameplay like Dance Dance Revolution. I found this in the youtube and I think it does encourage the guys out there to buy one for their girlfriends. Not only that it can help to slim out the body, you can also get to watch the ass in action. Enough said, video time!

Epicentre is 6 years old, Apple products got discount?

May 31st, 2008

I went to Orchard today to walk around and I saw these people in white were playing drums and distributing flyers outside Wheelock Place. It’s the 6 anniversary of Epicentre Orchard, in case you don’t know what Epicentre Orchard is, it’s one of the earlier, if not earliest Apple reseller in Singapore and it has a branch in Pavillion KL. I bought my 4g iPod from them, and that’s the only thing i bought from them till now.

The event was an auction, auctioning the Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air and iPods. I thought the buy price in an auction would usually be slightly lower than the retail, but I was wrong. The price of the Macbook Air was as high as 5k plus plus. You maybe wondering who the hell will pay so much for a $2988 product? Actually, the auction was a charity, aiming to donate the money to the victims in the disaster zones. I have donated too!

Their publicity was certainly a success (super crowded in the store) or perhaps it’s just a shopping season since the Great Singapore Sales has begun. Nonetheless, don’t expect any discount on the Apple products except for the 20″ iMac which has a generous 20% off the regular price. Maybe they want to sell away the defect units? In fact many people have observed and proved that the 20 inch iMac’s display is far inferior to the brother 24 inch in terms of color. So, don’t be fooled, Apple hardly gives discount!

Malaysia has Style, but where’s Substance?

May 30th, 2008

Malaysia has always got the style. We have the twin-tower, beutifully crafted with stainless steel (IMO, Petronas Twin-Tower is more beautiful than any other skyscrapper), we have the KL Central, another pretty structure which serves as an interchange between the mode of transport. What else? Putrajaya, the Washington of Malaysia, is decorated with blocks of enormous buildings and the 7 uniquely built bridges, each has it’s own symbolism and representation. No doubt, the aesthetic part and the visual part of things are fantastic in this country. Check this out to see how beautiful Putrajaya is.

Remember how patriotic songs and video used to be in the past? Lately I saw this patriotic video HERE IN MY HOME filmed by us, are uber cool! Even my Singaporean friend has commented that

Its better than any of our National Day Parade songs

Indeed. The song itself is not very catchy, but overall, the lyrics are subtle and just nice to bring out the message of harmony and love for the country. The video has got style, instead of displaying achievements or military might like fighter jets, prosperous cities, it shows many artistes coming together and sing the song. The element of propaganda is minimum, making the song sounds more genuine and sincere. I heart this song, it really makes us proud to be part of the country.

Here In My Home, by ArtisteforUnity

We’ve got patriotic celebrities, we also have some patriotic bloggers, one of which is even compiling a 50+1 Malaysia book, good luck and wish Quachee a success! And you gotta check this out, fiftyplusone Malaysian, see who’s in the list!

Yes, we got the style, but where is the substance?

For those who love the song, you can download it here!

Challenges Motivate People

May 29th, 2008

The rest of the post is about the life of a teacher and the values I derives from it.

From a third party point of view, he is certainly a person who really wants to make a change in his students’ lives. Instead of seeing teaching as mundane and a routine to go through, he sees it as a challenge, and he is constantly seeking ways to enlighten those students who are ignorant, hard to teach, stupid, lazy and etc. Though frustration sets in each time, he does not give up but continue, just that in a stricter and forceful manner to ensure that the students learn, at least a bit. Of course, he doesn’t feel good. Will you ever feel good scolding or even be fierce to your friends? He treats all his students like his friends and he goes the extra miles to make sure his friends are doing fine in his academic or even life.

As it goes on, meaning the students continue to be ignorant and (still) stupid, he starts to detest his job. If I were him, I’d left the post immediately. Nonetheless, he still sees the challenge in his job and he is formulating a way to educate these ignorant beings. I hope he will succeed, but i highly doubt so, given the IQ and attitude of these students.

I give him my respect, for his perseverance and determination. More importantly, for the way he sees things in life, as challenges instead of daily routines. I must start adopting these set of principle because I can’t persevere and also, I feel that only when we’re challenged, we will put in our very best. So, start looking at your life from a different perspective now and things will look more colourful and lively.

It’s Never Too Late For Charity

May 26th, 2008

For those who know me well, have I given you the impression that my money is spent only on gadgets and ipods? I think thats the impression I give to everyone. But wait, I do like to do charity too, not trying to boast, I am trying to bring people into this doing good deeds.

The recent natural disasters have been devastating to the surviving victims as they lost their homes and love ones. Moreover, inefficient bureaucracy and paranoid government are the cause of further despair for the victims. I pity them.

I youtube the song 承诺 last night, sang by a large group of Hong Kong artists. In the video, Premier Wen was seen talking to the kids who lost their parents and he said

“你们幸存活下来,就好好活下去。”

while the kids were sobbing. It’s a very heart breaking scene. If possible, please donate and help them, for the reconstruction of schools, houses and every basic infrastructures. They shall not be deprived of a normal life.

As the chinese proverb goes, 祸不单行, meaning ‘Bad Stuffs Don’t Happen Once, But in a Series, One After Another’ (sorry for the lousy translation) Meanwhile, the promotion of the use of biofuel as the alternative source to petroleum has sparked what the economists called the speculative investment on our basic commodity - food! The demand supply theory is messing up our daily lives, causing inflation in almost everywhere of the world. We may not feel the pinch yet, but the poor people from the Africa Region are feeling the pain. They can hardly afford to feed their people, yet the prices of staple food like rich and flour have been spiking. Even the UN’s world food programme is now fighting a losing battle as it is short of millions of dollars to feed the hungry ones.

Although we are insignificant as an individual, we are almighty and beyond imagination when it comes to collective efforts. What we need to do are to donate a small amount or do whatever stuff that can show our support to them so that they won’t feel left out. If you haven’t thought of helping, you are not selfish nor ignorant, you are just unaware and not informed. No worries, it’s never too late for CHARITY. To them, your tiny help is precious and it’s now or never.

Read on to know more about the bag in the picture and for the video i mentioned.

NUS BBA teasession, 24th May 08

May 25th, 2008

Okay, is time for a little update on my Uni choice. Just attended NUS BBA teasession yesterday in the University Cultural Hall. Great location. It seems like NUS has a really good career service office. Okay, thats not the point. NUS is really rich and generous. They are willing to spend bucks to attract students. They held a luncheon, inviting all potential BBA students to Orchard Hotel, 8-course meal man! Then the BBA Teasession where the location is wow, and they serve nice cakes too!

During the Teasession, I talked to one of the big shots from NUS BBA, she asked what I am being offered, and I told her Concurrent Degree BBA + MSc. Then she asked, ‘So you have accepted the offer?’ Obviously not yet, and her reply was ‘Wah, give you direct master, still don’t want to accept yet ar?’ (Those aren’t the exact words, but the meaning is there) Is the offer really that great? I had one friend saying me stupid that I still need to kill my brain cells thinking of my Uni choice as it’s so clearly that NUS has given me the best offer among the 2 versities I chosen.

So what’s my choice? Wait, not finish yet. When we were in the bus touring NUS, the Bizad President, Richie said he faced the same dilemma 2 years ago, but his choice to NUS was triggered by Dr Mahathir because when Dr M was giving a speech in SMU, he kept mentioning NUS. So, since a Prime Minister talks about the school, the school must be a good school, aye?

I think I would be stupid if I don’t go NUS for its USP, MSc and the flexible choice of cross faculty module. And since SMU has cheated my feeling by saying that they will reply us the outcome last week, I have decided to choose NUS. But I still like SMU, for its campus, style and culture. I used to think that the class participation thing is a very attractive feature of SMU, but I believe if I want to talk, i can speak up anywhere, and talk with passion, instead of being pressured to talk. Well, I guess, I’ll just have to be practical and choose the one which gives me more opportunities.

Ah, I made a new Wordpress theme again!

May 25th, 2008

…but thats not for my blog. I spend hours designing, and come out with this wordpress theme, black and orange, quite beautiful aye? It is actually for my dad’s company website, so the colour theme is actually following the company’s logo’s colour. This time I really did it by myself, I mean not downloading the theme from some random website and modify like what yikhung.com is now. I got the basic table template, blank and empty then plan the sections and start piecing things together. Its quite easy, and also very satisfying when you realise you can generate elegant stuff (not very though, haha). Well, that’s it, please critic it can, so that I can improve on it.

Sorry for the LONGness.

American Idol Fever, measured 43.8degree Celcius

May 22nd, 2008

Ever since I visited Chenyi’s blog, I have been caught up into the American Pie Idol fever. The craze on David Archuleta is so strong that the girls’ have his name on their personal message. What’s so good about him other than the teary eyes and the baby face? Okay, his vocal is really great, I admit I like his voice, but I’m definitely not a supporter of DA. Again, he is not qualified to be a superstar, not yet!

On the other hand, we have the David Cook. Look at the way he sings, manly voice coupled with rock and emo elements, thats the superstar man! Nonetheless, Cook won the game. However, I think that the democratic world is just too harsh, why can’t there be a joint victory? We can’t denied that both of them have the quality to be the Idol, probably DA is just too unfortunate to join in the game this time round, better luck next time!

Okay, what am I talking, seems contradicting right? I just want to share two songs, two incredibly well-sang melody by DA and DC respectively.

“In this moment” by David Archuleta

“I don’t want to miss a thing” by David Cook

May 22nd, 2008

Oh shit, I really don’t know how to choose. Flip a coin, head or tail? Banging my heads on the wall… BANG BANG BANG! Ouch! Still don’t know. If SMU don’t offer me Extraordinary Scholarship, I’ll go NUS, full-stop!
