Versity Dilemma May 21st, 2008

Deadline is approaching. By 2nd June, I will have to make my decision of which Versity to go to, either SMU or NUS. The choice is difficult to make. Right now, I have been offered Business Management and Economics double degree by SMU and heard nothing from NUS apart from the acceptance of University Scholar Programme. Well, seems like there’s is only one choice for me now. But I guess NUS will reply in the coming days.
I realise both Uni adopt different strategies in luring students. SMU acted swiftly by comfirming the offer of places , just 2 days after the interview while NUS took damn long time but still no replies (but i heard many others gotten their outcome, maybe NUS don’t want me, I don’t care). Certainly, the sincerity of SMU is felt (i’m not bias) since their prompt replies reduce our anxiousness. On the contrary, the NUS internal systems seem to be fragmented. How can the USP gives me an offer while there’s still nothing from the School of Biz. Maybe they want to surprise me? I hope so
I was shortlisted for the Lee Kong Chian scholarship interview, entered the final round, but I don’t think I am going to make it though. Just praying that they are going to offer me some other scholarships instead. And yes, they are efficient, SMU says they will inform us between May and June. As for NUS, I went for the don’t-know-what scholarship interview, but heard that the outcome will only be revealed in mid or end June. Why don’t they just reveal it now to attract the potential students? i’m sure many will turn away just because of Scholarships matter. Right now, i can only pray hard for a scholarship, please pray for me too!
